We’ve recently made some significant improvements to our insurance offering. Join our insurance webinar to learn about our new insurance arrangements that offer:
- enhanced terms, conditions and definitions
- lower premiums for most Hostplus members
- simplified automatic insurance for new members.
This session will not only help you understand the impact on existing Hostplus clients, but also explore how automatic insurance could be suitable for other clients. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions of our Head of Insurance Strategy & Product throughout the session.

Head of Insurance at Hostplus
Shane is the Head of Insurance at Hostplus where he has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the strategic initiatives related to Hostplus’ insurance product and pricing, ensuring alignment with the Fund’s insurance strategy to deliver a high quality, affordably priced and appropriate insurance solution for Hostplus beneficiaries.
He has worked in the group insurance industry for over 30 years, with significant experience across Industry Super Funds, Retail Master Trusts and Employee Benefits.
Prior to joining Hostplus, Shane was the Head of Group Life Consulting Services at IFS Insurance Solutions where he was responsible for the delivery of a range of insurance services and advice to industry super funds and the broader industry super network, and he has previously held insurance roles at Mercer and AXA.
Shane holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from Monash University.

Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Hostplus
Con Michalakis is Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Hostplus, following the merger with Statewide Super in April 2022, where he was Chief Investment Officer. Hostplus is one of Australia’s largest industry superannuation funds, with a total FUM of AUD 122 billion, Con leads portfolio construction in public and private markets.
Con has worked for asset managers in New York, Sydney and London and was the first investment practice leader for Watson Wyatt in Australia. Con has a B.Sc. in Maths from the University of Adelaide and a M.Sc. from the University of London.
